28 Weeks Pregnant

Only 12 weeks away from meeting our little princess! I can't quite believe it!

This week is pretty much the same as last week, nothing much has changed. Still having the horrible heartburn and feeling super tired. I'm also starting to feel sick again if I leave it too long without eating a snack, naughty me!! This week also blessed me with a big enough belly that now I can't see my feet... I find this very funny. So it's safe to say i'm feeling huge.

I also received a prize I won in a competition on twitter from @TescoBabyClub. They were running competitions every day throughout their massive baby event and I was lucky enough to win a Tommee Tippee bundle. I received the Sangenic nappy disposal system starter pack, Closer to nature complete starter kit and the Closer to nature digital sensor pad monitor. They all look like such amazing products and I can't wait until baby girl comes so I can try them all out :D

I am also thinking about running a little competition of my own to guess baby girls weight and birthday. Let me know what you think!!

Just For Fun - Pregnancy Survey

I was looking at Lotte's BLOG and saw a cute post called a Pregnancy Survey. I thought it looked fun so here is mine :D

How did you find out you were pregnant?
Like most people I took a test on the day of my missed period and up came them magical two little lines.

What were your first symptoms?
My lack of 2 week wait symptoms were my first sign that I was pregnant and then around 6 weeks I felt very tired and got nausea.

Who did you tell first?
Apart from Mark I told my best friend!

Who was with you when you found out?
I was with Mark. It was a wednesday morning and he had to rush off to work after.

Was baby planned?
Yes, we were TTC 16 months before it finally happened.

How far were you when you found out?
I was 4 weeks.

What was your reaction?
I cried with joy. I couldn't believe that it finally happened, it still amazes me to this day.

What was the baby's father's reaction?
He didn't believe the test. We had so many negative tests before this one it was hard to believe that there were actually two lines and not just one.

What was your parents reactions?
They were over the moon and very excited.

Due date
12th May 2012

Boy or girl?
GIRL! Mark said to me straight after we saw the positive test that she was a girl and he was right.

Any names?
We have a few but that would ruin the surprise.

Who do you think the baby will look like?
We both think she will look like me with the same dark hair and dark eyes. We could see from the ultrasound that she already has my lips. I hope she has a little bit of Mark too.

Will baby have any siblings?
She will have a big sister in Millie :D

Have you and dad felt baby move?
Yes, we feel her all the time now.

Who will be in the delivery room?

Will you use medication?
I want to try have a natural birth but we will see what happens.

Are you scared about labour?
At this stage i'm very nervous.

How will you react when you see baby?
There is no doubt in my mind that I will be crying when I first see her.

Did you have morning sickness?
Yes, I had bad morning sickness. I actually ended up in hospital for tests.

Mayo, cheese, sandwiches, cake, chocolate, sweets, prawn cocktail crisps.

Did you have any mood swings?
Mark would probably say yes.

Formula or breastfeeding?
Breastfeeding but i'm not against formula feeding and if for some reason I can't breastfeed I will happily switch to formula.

When did you start to show?
Properly not until about 18 weeks.

Are you excited?
More than words can express.

Who will help with baby after their born?
Mark and other family.

What is your favorite thing about being pregnant?
Knowing that what I am doing is truly such an amazing thing. And feeling her move.

What is the worst thing about being pregnant?
Defiantly the morning sickness.

What one thing do you miss doing since being pregnant?
Probably fitting in my clothes lol.

Any days you wish you weren’t pregnant?
Never - It's the best feeling in the world.

Are you ready for baby?
Yes, more than ready.

How many kids do you want?
I would love 3 but Mark wants 2 so we will see :D

Do you talk to your baby?
All the time especially when she is wriggling around.

Do you still feel attractive?
I have my days when I feel rubbish but Mark is always there to tell me how beautiful I am. I think he really loves seeing me pregnant.

Have you had your baby shower yet?
Not sure i'm having one :(

How many pregnant women do you know?
Loads of people I went to school with are currently pregnant but none of my close friends are which is rubbish :(

How far along are you now?
28 weeks  2 days - Not too long left :D

I'd love to read your pregnancy survey!

February Sunshine

A fellow mummy to be, Shareen over at A real mummy diary has awarded me a February Sunshine Award :D

All you have to do is answer some fun questions which are bound to bring some sunshine to an otherwise dull February. Then pass it on to continue making people everywhere smile!

Favourite Colour: My favourite colour is PINK! I'd even go as far as wanting to live in a pink house but I don't think Mark would like that very much!

Favourite Animal: This is very hard... I truly do love Giant Panda's and consider them to be my favourite animal but I can't forget about my little Millie Moo :D

Favourite non-alcoholic drink: I'm pretty boring since I got pregnant and all I drink is water. I do let myself have the odd glass of ice cold Cola Cola/Pepsi which I do love! I love it even more if it's flat!

Facebook or Twitter: I wouldn't say I have a favourite. I think they both have good and bad points. Facebook is great for keeping in touch with family and friends. Twitter is good for meeting new people. You can follow me on Twitter @NicolaBear987 :D

Favourite Number: I like the number 5. No idea why it just seems like a nice number.

Favourite day of the week: Saturday!!

My Passion: My family, reading and recently I am loving writing my blog posts. Since becoming pregnant I also love anything to do with pregnancy.

Getting or giving presents: I prefer giving presents but I must admit I'm rubbish at picking presents for people. Mark tells me all the time how I'm the worst present giver ever but I do try my best :D

Favourite Pattern: I like very symmetrical things so would probably love any symmetrical pattern.

Favourite Flower: A rose. Either red or white. I think they are so pretty and delicate.

I want to be a little different when I pass on this sunshine award and I want to pass it on to anyone reading this who needs a little lift :D

27 Weeks Pregnant

This week was amazing and painful all at the same time. Baby girl now has a pretty good kick and loves to kick me all the time. She is such a wriggler I actually wonder if she sleeps at all. She loves to keep me awake at night and that is when she is most active. Also keeping me awake at night is the fact I can't get comfy. I have a body pillow but can't quite seem to master the art of using it just yet. Tips are much welcomed!!

This week I also had another midwife appointment. It went really well, everything is perfect and baby girl is measuring spot on! I also had some blood taken so have a lovely bruise on my arm! They need to check my iron levels and for anti bodies in my blood, very routine as you enter your third trimester. I also got a lovely DVD from my midwife. So me and Mark will be watching that soon and I will let you know my thoughts.

I'm just getting very excited to meet her and I can't wait to have everything ready for her :D

26 Weeks Pregnant

Not a lot has happened this week. To be honest I've felt a little down and fed up all week, not sure why. Maybe it's because I feel like we have so much left to do and the weeks are still flying by.

My symptoms this week are still heartburn and my itching stomach, I don't think they will go away to be honest. Gaviscon and moisturizer are helping which is good.

Baby girl's movements are getting so much bigger and stronger. I actually grabbed her foot this week which was pretty cool if a little strange. At this moment it actually dawned on me that there is a little person inside my belly, made it feel very real!

I am finding it quite annoying that I can't do as much as i'm getting bigger. Picking things up off the floor is getting harder as is sitting down/standing up for long periods of time as my back starts to hurt.

But I am still loving every second of this pregnancy even my slightly strange craving for lettuce!!

As I write this Millie is laid next to me asleep and I can't believe my cute little kitten is one today!! She's grown up so fast but is still as cute as ever :D We love her so much and she truly is part of the family. I hope baby girl will love her as much as we do!

25 Weeks Pregnant

WOW! Only 15 more weeks until our baby girl is here. Each week is flying by and were not nearly as ready as I would like to be. This said February and March are going to be very busy months. We are planning on decorating this month and our furniture is getting delivered early to mid March. So hopefully by the third week in March our little girl should have a lovely room with furniture :D

My main symptom this week is itchy skin across my belly. Very annoying but greatly helped by applying moisturizer. My heartburn is still there but my Gaviscon has worked wonders! Also this week I felt baby girl have hiccups for the first time, it felt like tiny little kicks over and over again in the same place, so amazing! As I said last week her kicks and rolls are still getting stronger and stronger and thankfully still don't hurt yet :D

I also had a midwife appointment this week. I am measuring well and we even got to hear baby girls heartbeat, which I must admit brought a tear to my eye. Everything else was perfect, even my weight gain which I was a little worried about. I've put on a stone so far and told I should put on a pound a week from now on so about another stone :o/ I am fairly petite and have never gained this much weight before but i'm feeling pretty good about it. I guess it's because I know it's needed and i'm willing to do anything to bring this little girl into the world healthy!

Safe to say i'm loving pregnancy at this stage. I feel amazing and so lucky :D

Edinburgh Zoo :D 30/01/2012

Everyone that knows me knows that I love Giant Pandas and this week I had the amazing chance to go to Edinburgh zoo and see the two panda's they have.

The day started off very early with a 4:45am start and a very late finish, we got home at 23:45pm. The train journey was made easier as we went first class :D This was amazing! Having never traveled first class before I was very excited to have this experience and best of all the train tickets didn't cost a penny (I won them) It was difficult been 25 weeks pregnant and sitting down for so long with not much room to move but the free drinks and snacks defiantly helped!

When we got to the zoo we walked around for a few hours as we weren't booked to see the pandas until 14:45pm. Finally the time came and we got to see them. And what did I do?! I cried like a baby! I'm blaming hormones but to be honest I have loved pandas for so long and never thought I would get the chance to see them that pregnant or not I would of cried anyway. The pandas were so cute and just amazing and I will never forget the moment one of my dreams came true :D

We only got to see them for about 10 minutes but I didn't care. I am hoping we can go again soon and take baby girl! I hope she loves them as much as I do as she already has a few panda teddies of her own :D Mark has promised we can go once a year for as long as the pandas stay at Edinburgh.
