Birthday Planning Stress

Just a random picture :)
With Paige's first birthday just around the corner I'm in the middle of planning her special day.

We are planning a little party on the Sunday a few days after her birthday with some close friends.

I am very much stressing out! I want everything to be perfect. I know she won't remember the day but I'm sure there will be lots of pictures and I for one will remember it. I feel like it is such a special event and I don't want to mess it up.

I'm currently in the middle of buying presents, decorations, sorting outfits and planning a cake.

Fingers crossed it somehow comes together.

How did you find planning your babies first party?

Review - V Tech Baby Walker

For Christmas we wanted to get Paige a toy that lasted her a while. That grew with her as she changed and developed. After much research we decided on the V Tech Baby Walker.

The reviews were amazing and everyone seems to love it. We weren't disappointed.
I love the fact it grows with your child. They can use it when they can sit up on their own right through to when they start walking.

The front section comes off and Paige loves playing with the buttons and the little door. She used to sit there for ages just opening and closing the door. Now she is learning how to put the shapes back into the spaces.

She learnt to walk with it when she was quite young. She loved the independence although she couldn't turn it by herself for a few weeks but she soon leant.

Now she sprints up and down the living room pushing the walker and flinging it around so she can go the other way. It's so cute to watch her.

I love the fact that it is educational as well as fun. The best of both worlds if you ask me. They also come in a range of different colours and are around £27.99.

Has you little one got the V Tech baby walker?

Who Said You Could Grow?

Who tells babies to grow up so quickly? It's like you wake up one day and suddenly they seem a lot older than the day before.

Paige is 1 in less than 4 weeks..... 4 WEEKS!

How did that happen? My baby is no longer a baby. She is almost walking, almost talking and so grown up.

A little look into the grumpy teenage years?

Kiddie Wow

We all know that children grow so fast. They wake up one day and are an inch taller than the previous day. I feel like we are forever buying Paige bigger clothes. But it can be such a hassle to get everyone up and out the door to buy new clothes. Why not shop from the comfort of your home?

I do this a lot. Its so easy to view clothes and click on the size you need. After that all you have to do is wait for the lovely parcel to come :)

Kiddie Wow is an online clothing children's website. From newborn right up until 7 years old there really is something for everyone. I always hate paying delivery on things I order online but with Kiddie Wow you get free UK delivery, you really can't go wrong.

They have some amazing brands ranging from Converse to the lovely Slugs and Snails. These are all great quality brands and great prices. They also sell lovely little blankets perfect as a gift for a new baby.

Give your child the extra WOW factor and visit Kiddie Wow  today.

11 Months Old

Only one short month until Paige turns 1!!  I don't even know where to begin.

She isn't quite walking yet. She is fully capable, has fantastic balance and will walk so fast holding onto one of your hands but just doesn't have any desire to walk more than 2/3 steps on her own. She will let go and walk to get to something while cruising but that's it. She basically runs while pushing her walker and you can tell she doesn't need it as she just stands the flinging it about in a different direction to which she is walking. I think that she thinks that crawling is so much easier and quicker so just does that. Maybe she also needs to get her confidence up too. She loves to climb. She climbs on and off the sofa, off the bed, up the stairs, into her toy box.

She loves feeding herself her bottles now and wants to do it all the time. She has been able to do it since she was around 4/5 months I think but now wants to do it. She still loves her bottles and her milk. She is also gaining a few favourite foods... kiwi, bread sticks, yogurt, cheese and grapes to name a few.

Her sleep... I feel like just as it gets sorted something messes it up. This time was a development leap and teething, she now has 3 teeth!!! This development leap is crazy. She refuses to nap and wakes up during the night and refuses to settle back to sleep for up to two hours. She will sleep through on occasion... about once a week at the moment.

She understands wave, give kisses, splash, dance, jump. She also comes and gives cuddles which is the sweetest thing. She puts things in and out of bowls, is learning to put stacking rings on her pyramid thing and she can sort the shapes on her walker. She talks a lot more to herself and to us. Mark swears that she said Millie.

Spring/Summer Nails

I love wearing bright nail varnish all through the year but something about spring and summer makes it feel even better. To have fun bright nails and the sun shinning makes me so feel good!

One of my favourite brands is Barry M. I think they are fabulous quality for a decent price. The varnish goes on really well and lasts a while with a good top coat.

Today I am sporting Pink Flamingo. I love this colour and it may be my new favourite pink/coral.

I normally don't paint my nails as much now I'm a mummy but this spring and summer I am going to make time for me and paint them every once in a while as it's something I quite enjoying doing.

Do you like bright spring and summer colours?

Playing with Pegs!

I've been looking into some sensory play ideas to do with Paige. And I have a few up my sleeve which I am so excited to try out in the next couple of months.

But I thought I'd try a little playtime with some household things. I got our clothes pegs and a big bowl and off we went!

Paige loved taking the pegs out, putting them back in, tipping the bowl upside down and putting it on her head. Silly billy!

It kept her entertained for a good 10/15minutes which in my eyes is fab as she would rather walk around than sit and play with something at the minute.

Mummy Wins Again

Having a baby is the most wonderful thing that someone can do. But it can also be hard and does change your life forever. One of the main things that changed for us was the financial side of things. We knew what having a baby would mean and Paige was 100% planned so we were prepared but things are still hard at times.

As I am sure most of you parents can relate, saving money can be a near impossible thing to do when you have little ones. We have always compared prices on the basic household utility bills to try and make our money go that little bit further. Recently we have been discussing whether to buy contents insurance, I see it as a given that everyone should have it, but Mark is one of those who just assumes that we'll never use it! I highlighted that surely it's better not to risk it now we have Paige to worry about, and gave the scenario 'what would we do if the house was broken into and all of our things were taken?', 'how could we afford to replace most of it?'. Again his response was pretty much 'it will never happen!'.

I jumped online to do a little searching to show that the math's made sense and that realistically we couldn't afford to live without it, it just isn't worth the risk. I showed Mark how affordable it is and this started to make him come around to the idea, I think he just always assumed it would be too expensive. I even took him through all the different types we could get and showed him how easy it is to
compare home insurance prices. Now our contents are fully insured and we don't even notice our new small monthly outgoing. It really is a relief knowing that if the worst did happen we would be able to replace our things, and not have to scrimp and save and risk Paige going without, or not having her toys that she loves so much.
