It started on the Friday, Paige's actual birthday. Marks parents were travelling up to us buy train and were due to arrive at 6pm. So during the day we opened presents, had fun as a family, went to the park and just hung out. At around 5pm we went into town and did a little last minute shopping for the party on Sunday and met marks mum and dad at the train station. They haven't seen Paige in person since she was 3 months old. We do regular video calls but it isn't quite the same. Paige is a little shy around strangers and it took her a while to warm up to her nana and grandad but we got there and she was soon laughing and playing with them while she opened more presents.
|Wearing her special present from Sarah and Thomas, thank you!|
On the Saturday I had organised a family meal with a close friend thrown in for good measure :) this too went really well. Paige loved walking around the restaurant and looking at everyone. She was also a very good girl and sat in a high chair while we all ate our dinner and she even had some of her own. In the evening we all played with toys and chilled out with marks mum and dad.
On Sunday we held a little birthday party for Paige. A post on that will follow :)
How was your child's 1st birthday?
