25 Week Midwife Appointment

I actually had my 25 week midwife appointment at 24 weeks and 6 days due to how my dates are and how the appointment fell.

During the appointment the midwife checked my blood pressure and wee. Everything was perfect. She felt my belly and baby boy was head down with his back towards my right side. I defiantly feel him switching up his position a lot but it's nice to know that he was head down. With Paige she was always head down right from my 20 week scan whereas baby boy has always been laid in strange positions straight from the start!

My uterus measured right at my belly button which I already knew as I can feel it when I lay down. I always thought that it was meant to measure higher at this stage but apparently I'm right on track so that is great.

Due to us moving this was my last appointment with this midwife and sadly my regular one was ill so wasn't there. When we move I need to join the doctors and make sure I book an appointment with a midwife ASAP as I need to have my blood work done again at 28 weeks.

My iron tablets have also ran out and I asked the midwife if I should see my doctor for some more and she said to wait and see how my levels are at the next set of blood work as it is so close so I get a little break from them for a few weeks.

We also spoke a little about a homebirth as me and Mark are considering this as an option. I managed to ask a few of my questions from my possible homebirth post but I will be talking to my new midwife in much more detail about it at my next appointment.

A few other ladies I've spoke to said they don't have a 25 week appointment with their midwife, just a 28 week one. I have no why my midwife wanted to see me at 25 weeks but I didn't mind the check out and getting to hear baby boys heartbeat again was amazing.

Thanks for reading,

Nicola Xx
