The Aden & Anais Serenity Star is a multi-tasking must for every nursery, it is an electronic feeding and sleep system. It’s the first system to combine an electronic feeding diary, room temperature indicator, sound machine, nightlight and a clock—all in one.

The star records and displays the last point in time which you fed baby whether this be by bottle or breast. If you are breast feeding you can also record which side that you fed on. To be honest I haven't used this function a lot. When I have used it I found it very easy to use and it worked well. I honestly think I'm too tired and lazy to keep on top of it. I do think that if you are breast feeding then this would be such a useful element of the serenity star.
The sound machine part of the star is great. There are four sounds to choose from. Two of which are lullabies. The other two are a white noise sound and a heartbeat. Parker really loves the white noise and it helps him fall asleep. The timer is also useful. You can set the music to play for either 30 or 60 minutes or you can have a continus sound.
One of my favourite elements has to be the room temperature indicator. It's so important to have babies room at the correct temperature and this is hard to do without a room thermometer. With the serenity star this becomes easy because of the colour indicators. The star glows white, blue and red. White for the perfect temperature, blue if the room is too cold and red if the room is too hot. As we are in summer we have only seen the white and red indicators. Because of the colours you don't have to worry about reading an actual temperature, just simply glance at the serenity star and see what colour it is. It does also have the temperature displayed if you want to know.
The night light is really useful too. Of course it can help soothe baby if they don't like complete darkness but I also find it useful. It means that when I'm up during the night feeding Parker I don't have to worry about turning on the main room light meaning that Parker and myself go back to sleep more easily after the feed or nappy change. It did slightly freak me out the first time the room was too hot and the light then glows red instead of white but you soon get used to it. When trying out the star before Parker got here I thought the night light would stop me sleeping and when I was pregnant it did. I'm normally one who likes a completely silent and pitch black room to sleep. When Parker arrived I turned the star on and surprisingly I've slept without a problem. Maybe it's because I'm so tired but the light never bothers me or stops me from sleeping.
The clock is displayed in digital form and very easy to read even at 3am when I'm half asleep. I love that it is always displayed on the screen.
Overall the star is easy to use and easy to set up. The buttons on the back are simple and straight forward to use. The instructions are also very clear and easy to use.
The serenity star retails at £64.99. For the amount of things this product does I think the price is amazing. You are effectively getting a 5 in 1 product.
