My Unorganised Bathroom*

If you are a regular reader you will know that at the end of March we moved house. We moved form a 2 bed to a 3 bed. We wanted Parker to be able to have his own room. I will admit that although I love our house the other house had a lot more storage and much bigger rooms upstairs.

One of the main places we lost storage was the bathroom. While I was pregnant with Parker I didn't really think about how losing the extra storage would affect us but it has. Babies have a lot of stuff and most of the things are quite big, even though babies themselves are small. Parker's room is also a box room so he doesn't have a wardrobe. He shares Paige's built in wardrobe. We also have a built in wardrobe. They help a little with the storage issue but not hugely.

In our old bathroom we had a huge storage cupboard. It was that big that it housed the washing machine and still had room for everything else. Now we have no storage what so ever. As Parker gets older this is getting more and more inconvenient which is why we are looking at storage solutions for the bathroom. We need somewhere extra to store towels, toiletries and bath toys. Somewhere extra to hide away the chaos that can happen when you bathe two small children. Somewhere like a vanity unit. A vanity unit would be perfect for us. It can fit in under the sink so isn't taking up any extra floor space as we don't use that space under the sink. We did think about an open shelf unit around the sink but everything is still on display with that. With a vanity unit I can throw everything in and hide it all behind the doors and no one will ever know... I have seen a great selection at Bella Bathrooms.

I'm also trying to think of extra ways to increase the storage in our bathroom. I think we are going to try utilize the space behind the door with some hooks that hang over the side. Another area I find messy is around the bath and shower and all the different products that we have. I try to keep them very minimal but it never stays that way for long. I'm planning on adding shelves and little baskets to make things look a little prettier. That also means that products can be kept out of the way from Paige and Parker.
I like to keep the house as tidy as I can but sometimes it's hard with two children. Mess seems to follow them and if you are anything like me I can't relax properly until things are clean and mess free.

I'm very much looking forward to the day I can have a bath with staring at brightly coloured plastic bath toys all around the bath.
How do you organise your bathroom?
