This week was quite a big week. Parker can finally sit up straight on his own and cut that second tooth. He has always loved sitting up but before used to struggle to fully support himself with a straight back but not anymore. He really is getting so strong. He was a good month later than Paige sitting up but he is so much more eager to crawl than she was. He now gets on his elbows and feet and pushes himself forward. He still hasn't worked out that he needs to use his hands more but you can see him lay there staring at his hands and trying to figure it out. He is very much mobile and doesn't stay still when you lay him down on the floor.
I guess we've officially started weaning. He's just having one meal a day, if you can call it that. We are starting really slowly before we start the baby led weaning at 6 months. I just wanted to give him a couple of weeks to actually get used to swallowing food. So he has a few spoons of purée once a day.
His sleep was also ok this week. We had the odd bad night but mostly we had 2 wake ups. He has also been a lot easier to settle when he wakes around 4am which is nice.
Parker also loves to walk. If you hold his hands he will walk up and down the living room and gets so excited.
This week Parker has progressed a lot with his weaning. He is now having two meals a day. Again not loads but a few spoons of puree at lunch and dinner time. Unlike what some people may think this isn't effecting his sleep and he isn't sleeping any better. We are still having 2 wake ups, except one night of 8, but this week he has gone back to being fussy around 5am. I really don't know what it is.
This week he also tried finger food. I wanted to wait an extra week but I could tell he was eager to try more so he's had banana and toast so far and loves it. The toast he eats quite well but the banana he is still figuring out how to swallow bigger pieces. He started really chewing his puree so I decided it was time for him to try something a little more.
I can't believe he is almost 6 months old!
