Don't get me wrong I'm no expert when it comes to green smoothies or any smoothie in general but I enjoy making them and they taste super yummy.
We first got a blender a few months ago as an attempt to be healthier. It took a while to properly get into but now I try and have a smoothie at least 3 times a week. I aim for every morning Monday-Friday. Green smoothies are my favourite, mainly because I feel like they make the most difference to my diet. I can eat fruit for days but green leafy vegetables are a little harder for me so a boost in the morning of a green smoothie is a big hit.
I wanted to start of lightly when I first started so id start with a fruit smoothie and just add a small amount of kale or spinach. Over time I gradually added more and more. My favourite green to add is spinach so now I mostly have spinach.
My favourite smoothie is spinach, banana and melon. A big handful of spinach, a few chunks of banana and a few chunks od melon. I freeze our bananas and melon to make them last longer. That way they act as ace cubes too and make the smoothie so cold. I then add water or orange juice, I'm not very strict and will add a bit of orange juice if I fancy it.
You then blend for a couple of minutes and that is it. Easy and takes about 3 minutes to make.
You can't even taste the greens in it. Paige and Parker will also have bits, a great way to get hidden vegetables into their diets too.
