If you’re trying to come up with a special gift to thank your parents or in-laws for their help with your children, then consider something you might like yourself. Who wouldn't want a holiday as a present, and this is probably one of the ultimate thank-you gifts that will always be hugely appreciated.
If the gift of travel is the route you’re going to take then start dropping some subtle hints in order to work out some desired destinations – there’s plenty to choose from.

Where in the world?

If you can't get any clues about the destinations that they might want to travel to or if you want the trip to be a complete surprise then take a look at some of the most popular choices with travellers. India for instance, offers dream-like beaches of Goa and the sightseeing of famous cities, including Delhi, as well as the tranquil lagoons and inspirational sunsets of Kerala

If your parents don't want to face a long haul flight, then consider booking a cruise down the Norwegian fjord of Sognefjord where it’s possible to catch sight of the Aurora Borealis. The ultimate cruise destination for beach-lovers is the Caribbean where multi-stops of call can include Cuba and Jamaica as well as those world-famous beaches of Turks and Caicos.

Activity holidays

Another approach to finding a suitable holiday is to consider activities your parents or in-laws enjoy. A visit to Portugal will be a dream come true for golf-lovers and the Algarve is particularly popular thanks to its abundance of courses and year round sunshine.

If it’s skiing holidays they like, then how about a once in a lifetime trip to one of the most famous resorts in the world, Whistler in British Columbia, Canada? There’s a lot more to do than just skiing in Whistler, including exploring the stunning scenery on the Rocky Mountaineer Sea to Sky train and taking tours through Jasper National Park, the largest park in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

Unusual destinations

If you want to get creative, then think about choosing a destination that’s a little more out of the ordinary for your parents. A trip to experience the delights of South Africa’s Cape Town, which sits in the shadow of Table Mountain, will be an exciting option.

Or how about a week in the relatively undiscovered Cape Verde to enjoy some of the world’s most unspoilt beaches imaginable; 11 miles of pristine white sand await visitors to Boa Vista. If its whale watching and wilderness adventures then there are even cruises available to the snow-covered landscapes of the Arctic Circle to enjoy sights such as frozen waterfalls underneath the ethereal midnight sun.

It shouldn't be too hard to come up with that ideal dream destination holiday gift and part of the fun will be choosing a location that your parents will love, Saga Travel offers some fantastic packages and there’s no doubt that this will be a wonderful thank you present that will provide joy and many memories for years to come.
