Me and Mine - March

I feel like March has passed by so quickly but so slowly at the same time. We've had a good month although we are all now poorly. We've had Easter and eaten far too much chocolate. Mark surprised us all and made the kids Easter baskets, I wasn't going to bother. We've seen a lot of rain, some sun and even snow. It's lovely to be able to get outside as a family. We've seen some family and had a lovely day trip to my mums.

This months pictures are very last minute. I remembered this morning at 7:30am so we waited for daddy to get home and took some pictures then. I was getting so good at taking pictures early and been prepared.

We were playing in the garden... Anyone else loving the lighter evenings? We sure are! Parker really didn't want to be in the picture so we all got ready and shouted his name. For last minute I don't think it's all that bad, although he was not having anymore pictures. So that was the only one we got.

Next month brings my birthday, some holiday from work for mark and the last month that Paige is 3.

What's in My Pink Lining Notting Hill Tote

I really wanted to film another what's in my changing bag video. The last one I did was in September 2014. A lot has changed since then. The kids are older, they need different things and Paige isn't wearing nappies now.

As a Pink Lining ambassador I get sent items to review and share with you all. This time I am sharing their Notting Hill Tote Busy Bee. The Notting Hill style has to be my favourite one they do, I love the shape, pockets and style. The Busy Bee print is gorgeous, even mark likes it!! With gorgeous flowers and cute little bees it is perfect for spring/summer.

Pink Lining changing bags are some of my favourite changing bags and I recommend them to everyone. They always have such cute designs and I'm sure there will be one you love. They have so many pockets and the accessories are really great too.

I hope you enjoy the video!

Mummy and Me - March

I feel like I only just finished writing my February post and March is here already. I do enjoy March. Its still cold enough to snuggle in a blanket and watch films but its getting warmer, the days are getting longer and the sun shines a little bit more. Spring is one of my favourite seasons.

We've had a few opportunities this month to take better mummy and me pictures but I feel like these show us how we are everyday.

I was enjoying some peace and quiet sat in the sun after eating lunch. The kids were playing and eating. Then they decided they would come join me, climb all over me and steal my crisps. Pretty day to day stuff in our house.

We were eating, playing, snuggling, and roaring like a dinosaur. Just me and my babies. I asked Mark to snap some pictures as I thought they captured us perfectly together.

In the next few weeks I turn 27, Paige will turn 4 and Parker 2. Time passes so quickly once you have children and I'm trying to soak up every bit of my two while I can.

March also marks a year since I started mummy and me. I love doing these posts each month and seeing how the children grow.

Starting School

Both Paige and Parker are getting so big now. In a matter of weeks Paige will be 4 and Parker 2. In September Paige will be starting reception year at school.

I must admit I'm pretty nervous. My first little baby going off to school. She is growing up far too quickly. Where we live April is a big month. That's the month we find out if Paige has got into her first choice school or not.

There is so much you have to think about when choosing a school for your child. They will spend a lot of time there and it will shape them, teach them and develop them. The one we picked for Paige is such a lovely school, pretty close to where we live. It isn't a huge school but is one of the best if not the best in our area. It's also where she is currently at pre school but they don't take that into consideration when choosing reception places. Instead they focus on if your child has siblings at the school, children in care and then the school catchment area which we are in.

I really hope she has got in. When we looked around the school we loved it. If she hasn't then I will be appealing. I'm not one to stand up for myself but I will do anything for my children. I think she will be very happy at this school and we do live pretty close so I will be surprised if she doesn't get in and I want to know why if she doesn't.

If you decide to appeal then you may want to talk with a solicitor. There are certain procedures and rules you have to follow if you do wish to appeal. It can be so hard to know exactly what to do if your child doesn't get into their first choice school. You can feel a bit deflated, upset and angry. Emotions can get on top of you which is totally understandable so you may need to have some guidance.

Ultimately we all want what's best for our children and will do anything for them. I am excited and nervous for Paige but I know she will love it.

21 Months Old

Only 3 months until my little boy is two. I can't believe it. He seems so much more of a baby than Paige at the same age. I think that's mostly because he's the youngest and he's a lot smaller than what she was. Paige was already well in 2-3 year clothing, whereas Parker is only just going into 18-24 months clothes. He's just more of an average size and Paige was always on the 95th percentile.

This month his talking has really stepped up a gear. He will repeat everything you say. It is so cute. He says gone, please, Mickey, Duggee, Paige, Millie, caterpillar. It is so wonderful hearing his little voice so much. He also calls Mark ''daddy'' now rather than dada. I'm still mama for now.

He loves making animal noises still. His new ones this month are elephant, monkey and cow noises. If he isn't in the mood he will just make dinosaur noises for everything you ask which is quite funny.

He still hasn't got anymore teeth. He is turning into quite a picky eater. He will eat most fruit but wont eat much veg apart from carrots. He loves meatballs, grapes, apples and chocolate spread.

He is still napping once a day and goes to bed around 7pm although he will talk to himself and fall asleep when hes ready.

He still adores Paige, she is his favourite person ever. He is also a mummy's boy at times but at other times he prefers mark. He is still super cuddly and so affectionate.

He loves drawing, colouring, play doh, music and cars. He makes us laugh everyday and is such a great little character. He can have some major tantrums and be super grumpy and clingy but I wouldn't change him for the world.

A Lovely Spring Morning

I am loving the spring weather. The sun was shining on Sunday and we took full advantage and headed to the park. We took Paige's scooter and Parkers scuttle bug. We didn't particularly do much but you never really need to at the park. Parker loves the slide and Paige the round about. There was also a lovely lake for us to walk around with some very lively geese!

There's something so lovely about going out as a family and doing something that we all love. It's so nice to spend some quality time together and going outside is the perfect thing to do after a long winter. The weather was pretty cold and rainy so some sun is much welcomed. I am so excited for the lighter evening, although not looking forward to bedtime! Paige is obsessed with it getting dark before she goes to sleep. I can't wait to play in the garden with the kids, go to the seaside and eat ice cream when the summer comes.

It's also so lovely to be able to have some washing drying outside. As silly as that sounds. To get in the garden and feel the sun on your face. To wear not so many layers and just let the
kids run around in the warm sunshine.

Mark has a week off just after my birthday in April and I'm really hoping that the weather is nice so we can have some more spring adventures. I feel like because they summer will be Paige's last one before starting school we need to make it extra special for her and us as when September comes there will be big changes.

What's your favourite thing about spring?

How I Stay On Top Of Cleaning

In my planner I track a lot of things. One of those things is cleaning. It's important for me to keep on top of the cleaning and to do that I use some cleaning and tracking inserts from SewMuchCrafting.

I have a certain number of things that I aim to do each day and week. I simply try to get as much done as possible. If the kids are poorly and I don't get everything done that's fine. I don't beat myself up about it. I simply move onto the next week and start fresh. There's no point beating yourself up about it. If one afternoon I feel like sitting on the sofa with Paige and watching tv while Parker naps I will.

Wipe sides
10 min pick up and down stairs
Put clothes away as needed
Bins/recycling as needed
Spot cleaning (If the hob is dirty i'll wipe it down, if the bathroom sink has toothpaste everywhere i'll wipe that down)
For my daily cleaning to dos I wipe sides down throughout the day. Laundry I try to put it on first thing. A tip is to load your washer the night before and use the timer for it to turn on at 6am then when you wake up its already done. Only works if your washer has a timer though. I will be doing this as the weather gets nicer and I can hang clothes outside to dry. Dishes I do as and when. We do have a dishwasher but don't use it all the time. My 10 minute pick ups happen in a morning and after the kids are in bed. In the mornings I will tidy upstairs and evening I do downstairs and clear toys away. The kids usually help.

Dust x2-3
Hoover x3
Sweep kitchen x3

For weekly cleaning I try to set specific days to do things. On Monday/Wednesday and Friday I do main loads of laundry. On Tuesday and Thursday I try to do towels and bedding. I clean the bathroom on a Tuesday and kitchen on a Thursday. I hoover on days I do main loads of washing, same with dusting and sweeping.
Nothing is set in stone, I can switch things around as and when I need to. That's where my planner comes in. I can track things I've done and see what I still need to do. If I haven't done laundry in 2 days then its probably a good idea to start with that.
On a monthly basis I will clean the oven, washer and fridge. I also try to declutter toys and the kids clothes once a month too.
I try to get the kids involved as much as possible. They will help me tidy up and dust or follow me around while I'm hovering.
Whats your cleaning schedule like?

Siblings - March

I find it hard to believe that we are already 3 months into the year. That Paige is almost four and Parker 2 not long after..

This last month I have loved watching them together. I don't know what it is. The love between them both just shines through. They both love each other so much. They love their afternoons/ evenings and weekends together. They play with each other so well, Parker always wants to do everything Paige is doing. And Paige loves when Parker tries to do all the things she does.

They always play with each other toys, it's so cute. They will build together, draw together, cuddle together and dance together.

Parker will cry and get upset if Paige is upset. He hates seeing her upset. If one of them is laughing the other just has to laugh with them even if they don't understand why their laughing

Their bond is very strong and I hope it stays that way for many years to come. I love nothing more than watching my two together. Seeing them randomly give each other kisses and cuddles.

Our Evening Routine - March 2016

If you haven't seen our morning routine that normally takes us until 11:40am when we have to pick Paige up from pre school. Our afternoons are always quite quiet. We have lunch and then play. Parker naps at around 1:30pm. While he is napping me and Paige will play, paint, draw, whatever she wants to do for about an hour. She then has some ipad time and I do some blogging, check emails, that sort of thing.

3:30/ 4:00 - Parker is normally up from his nap. The kids will have a snack. We then play, have family time and then start tea. Sometimes Mark cooks, sometimes me.
5:30 - Tea time. After tea I will clean the kitchen down and do dishes. The kids will play together and with Mark or watch a bit of tv.6:15 - Bath time  (we don't bath them every night. Normally every other night) If They don't have a bath then they carry on playing.

6:45 - Kids bedtime routine. We get pjs on, brush teeth and have a story. I generally get the kids ready for bed. We will all sit down for a story together and then Mark will put Parker in his cot.
7:00 - Kids in bed, I will tidy up toys. We normally get the kids to help but if we are rushing I will just do it when there in bed. I will also finish up tidying the kitchen if I didn't manage to do it all earlier.
7:30-9:30 - I will spend time with Mark or do whatever needs doing.
9:30 - I'm normally in bed between half 9 and 10.

I like my sleep so always try to head upstairs at around half 9. I can then wind down a little on my own, get ready for bed and be ready to sleep for around 10pm.

How does your evening routine work?

Mothers Day 2016

I can't believe I just had my fourth Mothers Day. My first, second and third flew by. It still amazes me just how quickly time passes by when you have children.

This Mothers Day was very similar to my previous ones. I had a lovely lay in, although I woke up when the kids did Mark took them down stairs and I stayed in bed with a magazine and a cuppa. I then had breakfast in bed at Paige's request, I promise I didn't make her request that!

The then had a really lazy day. We watched films, played with toys and ate a yummy sunday lunch. After Parkers nap we went to my dads house for the evening which was lovely.

We never do anything too special for Mothers Day as it really is just another day. Just another day that I get to be a mummy to my two babies. Of course I do get a little extra spoiling, like these gorgeous sticky notes. Yes i'm obsessed, we all knew that already!

Being a mum isn't always easy but it is so worth it. To see your children laughing, smiling and playing together is the best.

How was your Mothers Day?

The Mum Wardrobe

Some of you may know what I mean. You wake up in the morning, run around trying to get ready while throwing some tea or coffee down your neck to wake up. You have 1,2,3 children to also get ready and take to school. You sometimes struggle to just find some clean jeans and throw on whatever else you can find and looks clean.

That's what I do most mornings. I'm not the most fashionable mum and I always wear the same thing. Day in day out you can pretty much place bets on my outfits. Because there always the same.

T shirt.

Easy, comfy and practical. I love Esprit for some gorgeous, simple pieces. Cotton t shirts and dark denim jeans are staples in my wardrobe.

Plus they can be dressed up if you are going out. A pair of heels and a statement necklace would look amazing and instantly dress up the outfit.
I think they are fine for day to day wear too. I always find it harder to dress in the winter and spring time as its still really quite cold. When summer comes around I enjoy wearing more dresses and shorts but again I pair them with Converse as they are so comfy. I love the plain white ones as they go with everything!

Sometimes I wish I could have my own personal stylist to come dress me each morning and make me look fabulous everyday but for now I am enjoying my mum wardrobe and all that comes with it, sticky fingers prints and all.

Do you tend to wear to same thing each day?

Trespass Review - Blizzards 3 in 1 Womens Jacket

English weather isn't great at any time of the year but especially in winter. I wasn't really prepared in September when Paige first started pre school . I knew id have to pick her up and drop her off but the weather wasn't at the front of mind. I didn't realise quite how long I'd be stood in the wind and rain. Safe to say my coat wasn't very practical. It used to take a good 24 hours to dry out sometimes. I needed something to keep me warm and dry. That's where Trespass come in.

I was sent the Blizzard Womens 3 in 1 Jacket  in Sandy. The outer shell of the jacket is waterproof to 3000mm and is breathable. I have stayed super dry with the jacket and its so lovely to get home, take my jacket off and for my clothes to be dry whereas before they would always be wet.

The jacket comes with an inner fleece. This can be taken out if needed and worn on its own. I haven't fully worn the fleece by itself yet as the weather is still pretty cold but I do love the fleece. It is super soft and fits really nicely. The fleece is easily attached and detached from the outer shell with poppers and a zip.

I love the parka style of the jacket. The faux fur trim around the hood adds a bit of detail and makes it feel like a regular coat, a stylish coat. It is detachable if you wish to take it off though. I've kept it on as I like it. Personally I'd love the hood to be a little bigger. I'm not sure if I've got a weird shaped head but I find it difficult to get the hood to actually stay up sometimes and if its really windy you have no chance.

There are 6 pockets which is great for me as I usually don't take a bag with me on the school run. The bottom pockets are nice and big. I love the chest pockets as they have a bit of fleece in them, I use them to keep my hands nice and warm. There is also Velcro on the sleeves so you can tighten if needed.

I've really loved testing out this coat and will continue to use it. I think its a really lovely jacket and does the job perfectly. There are a lovely range of other 3 in 1 jackets available if this one doesn't look like the one for you. The sizing is also pretty good. I got an XS and I'm normally a 6/8. The fleece fits lovely but the outer shell is quite big but it doesn't feel huge and is super comfortable. It's also not heavy which is great. The jacket is currently priced at £60.99.

Have you tried Trespass?
