We were recently sent the Thomas & Friends My First All Around Sodor to try out. The train arrived in super cute Thomas packaging and Parker couldn't wait to play. It was super easy to put to the track together. After a quick read of the instructions I knew how the train worked and showed Parker what to do.
You simply press the colour- coordinated buttons and Thomas automatically knows where to go. He moves around the track all by himself which Parker loves. If you press the yellow button Thomas will head to the Tidmouth Sheds and interact with Percy, James, Gordon, and Sir Topham Hatt. Press the green button and Thomas will chuff over to chat with Cranky the Crane at Brendam Docks. Here the child can manually load or unload the 2 barrels included. Thomas eyes and mouth also magically move before he starts chugging along. You don't just have to play with Thomas just on the track, if you take him off he will move around the room.
Parker loves playing with Thomas and it keeps him entertained for a while. He loves talking to him and pressing all the buttons. He unloads and reloads the barrels. He hasn't quite worked out how to build the track on his own yet but that isn't a problem as its quite sturdy so once I've built it, it stays put. He has struggled with the cargo car. He couldn't seem to work out that it just pops onto the back of Thomas but he got there within no time at all.
The toy is suitable for 18 months + and is such a great little toy. Parker was 2 in June and I feel like he still has plenty of months and enjoyment left. It is really colourful, super cute and the buttons are perfect for toddler hands.
Is your child as train obsessed as mine?
