Me and Mine - November 2017

Yet another month gone. How are we almost in December?!

This month we celebrated Harleigh's 1st birthday and our 4th wedding anniversary. I can't believe that Harleigh is already one!!!1 Its gone so, so quickly.

We've had a good November and can't wait for December to come. We are so excited for Christmas, the school holidays and lots of family time together.

This months picture is our yearly anniversary picture we do holding a frame with all the previous years pictures in. I love doing these each November and seeing how much everyone has changed. Harleigh has changed the most by far. She was only 4 days old in the last years and is now 1 year 4 days in this years.

JD Williams Coat and Knitwear Review

I was recently sent some items from JD Williams to try out. I picked a coat and two jumpers. In autumn and winter I live in coats and jumpers because of the million School and nursery runs I do each day I need to be warm.

I love parka style coats. I just think they go with everything and are super cosy. I love this one in the black. The gold details make it look really nice and stylish plus it matches most of my bags and boots! There is also a handy little drawstring around the waist so you can pull it in and add some shape. It’s really nice quality and still looked brand new. I’ve worn it in sun, wind and rain and not had any problems. It isn't the thickest I've had but it still warm if you wear a jumper under it. I got it in a 10 which is the smallest size they do.

This first jumper is probably my favourite. It's an Oasis colour block jumper. It’s big, comfy and so very cosy. It’s lovely and soft too. I love the black and white design. The sleeves are perfect with the added pop of white on the ends. I got a size small which is a 10 and it is quite big and oversized but perfect if you like that style. I would of gotten an 8 if they had it available.

The second jumper is a burgundy roll neck jumper. I love wearing these in winter as they really do keep you nice and warm. This one is super soft and a nice fit. It isn’t too tight and is perfect, I got the 8-10. I love wearing these with jeans or even a black skirt and tights. A simple autumn/winter outfit that looks great.

Both jumpers can be found in the knitwear section! I have loved trying these items out and can't wait to get more wear out of them throughout the winter.

Mummy and Me - November 2017

Another month gone in a flash. This month was pretty special. It was Harleigh's first birthday! I still can't believe that she is one now. The past year has flown by so quickly. I feel like I blinked and she suddenly grew up.

She had a lovely birthday. We didn't do too much but it was perfect. She got very spoilt with cards and presents. When Paige finished school we had a little party with family and a few friends and it was great fun. Harleigh spent the whole day laughing and smiling.

We've had a good month as a family. I feel like me personally could of gone better but it could of been worse too. I am very much looking forward to Christmas and the whole of December. The children are all starting to get really excited and I can't wait to see their faces.

Harleigh 12 Months Old

My tiny little 6lb 14oz baby is ONE! I can barely believe it. Its gone so, so quickly. It makes me so sad.

We still haven't had any steps but she is getting really good at standing by herself, her balance is really coming along. She can now climb on to the sofa and up the stairs. She nods her head for yes, dances to songs and blows kisses.

Another two teeth have cut meaning so now has 6 all together. We've also had a lot more babbling and sound making from her which is lovely. She is usually very quiet. We also had a first word, mama. She said it three times the day before her birthday but hasn't said it again.

She is still having three bottles a day and three meals. We have started to introduce cows milk and at the moment she has half and half for her bottles. She weighs around 20lbs.

Sleep and naps are a little off, we are weaning off the dummy but only on day 2 so far. Any tips?

She is turning into a toddler very quickly and it makes me so sad. I am excited to see when her first steps will be as both Paige and Parker were already running around by now.

Christmas Gift Guide - Baby/Toddler 2017

Next up is the baby and toddler gift guide. I love buying for babies and toddlers at Christmas. I think the things out there are so cute. I tend to do a mixture of toys and items that parents will find useful. I know what it's like to have a house overrun with toys so sometimes giving other little things is nice.

I love the idea of giving a Personalised Christmas Eve Box and Plate for a baby. You would have to give it early for them to use it but if they were really small it could be given on Christmas day and just saved to use until the next year. Its such a lovely, special personalised gift I wanted to include it.

1. Baby rabbit china mug - I love getting keepsakes for babies and toddlers for Christmas. I think a little keepsake plus a little toy makes the perfect present. This mug can be personalised with a name and date of birth on the back.

2. Bashful Bunny - I also love Jellycat teddies. I think they are a little more special than a regular teddy and so very soft. All my children have a special Jellycat toy and we have a few favourites in our house.

3. Harry and Rose Gift Set - A skincare set is always a nice touch at Christmas. Maybe paired with a little toy for baby the parents will always need skincare items for baby. This set from Harry and Rose is very luxurious and smells wonderful.

4. VTech Activity Table - Harleigh has this and loves this. Suitable from 6 months it's a great toy for a growing and developing baby. They can play with it sitting down and when they are ready to stand and play simply add the legs.

5. BBC Children's DVD - With Sarah and Duck, Mr Tumble, Go Jetters and Hey Duggee there will be something you toddler loves. I don't mind my children watching an episode or two in an afternoon when they a bit tired but bedtime is still a couple of away, some quiet sofa time makes the world of difference.

6. Sing-along Mr Tumble - Babies and children of all ages seem to like Mr Tumble. All my three will happily watch him on tv. He's fun, bright and super colourful. This toy is great for a baby or toddler as its super soft too!

7. Halia RoseTeether - A teether is a great gift for a baby. Its always nice for them to have a few different teethers that are safe for them to bite down on and chew. They all prefer different ones and this is one of Harleigh's favourite's.

8. Blade & Rose Leggings - Clothes are a good gift too. As a parent I know how quickly babies grow so they always need bigger clothes. The Blade & Rose leggings are very comfy and cosy and come in so many different designs.

Christmas Gift Guide - Mums 2017

Next up is my mums gift guide. I feel quite confident with the gift guide as I would love to receive any of these items myself.

1. Pamper Gift Set From Letterbox - As a mum i know how hard it can be to make sure you give yourself enough me time. Getting a gift set as a gift for a mum is a great way to help them chill out a little and make time for themselves. This box is great, it contains chocolate, Himalayan Pink Salts, Bath Oil, a candle and some bath truffles.

2. Braun Satin Hair 7 Hairdryer -  A great hair dryer with many features including colour save technology, cool air button, satin ion technology, antisatic, 2m cord and 2000w. A hair dryer is quite a practical gift and I think feel most women would have one, if there anything like me it's probably on its last legs and they could use a fresh new one.

3. Grace Cole Gift Set - A different kind of gift set to help mum, auntie or even grandma relax. Including a hand cream, bath and shower gel, body lotion and body mist. It even comes in a cute little bag which would be perfect to travel with.

4.  Grace Cole Candle - A gorgeous looking and smelling candle. Maybe you could pair with the gift set to create an amazing present.

5. PopSocket - A great little device which would be perfect as a stocking filler. With loads of designs there will be one you and the receiver will love! They are handy to give you extra grip on your phone or to use as a stand.

6. Beauty and the Beast Chip Mug - I love Beauty and the Beast and think this cup is adorable. I love to collect cups and I know a few others that do too so this would make a lovely gift for a cup or Disney lover.

7. Clarissa Hulse cosmetic bag - A cosmetic or wash bag filled with a small candle or some other goodies would make a lovely gift. I love this one, super bright and really good quality.

8. Ruby + Ed Slippers - Slippers always make cosy gifts. These gorgeous ones are handmade, great quality and very luxurious.

9. Superdrug Rapid-Pedi Foot File - I see Christmas as a time to give give that someone can pamper themselves with. An electric foot file in a gift bag with some fluffy slippers/socks and some nice nail varnish would be a cute gift.

10. White Glo Teeth Whitening Set - A teeth whitening set might not be your first thought when giving a gift this Christmas but if you know someone who prides themselves in how they look it could be a great gift, especially if paired with something else too.

11. House Of Lovely Stuff Tote - A tote is a great gift, some practical but still a nice gift to give. The House of Lovely Stuff totes are great quality and made in limited quantity which makes them that little bit more special.

Harleigh's Smash Cake

Another baby turning one can only mean one thing... another smash cake!!

I loved doing smash cakes with Paige and Parker, even if they didn't got to plan. Parker really did enjoy it more than both girls. Harleigh wasn't very sure just like Paige but she did actually eat some unlike Paige!

It also seems like Harleigh thinks she is above using her hands to feed herself and instead required a spoon! Maybe the only first birthday smash cake to involve the baby using a spoon!!

She did eventually kind of get into the swing of it but I honestly thought that she would dive straight in, she usually loves cake! I guess the situation is very different.

I spend ages making sure the cake was perfect and even made the little topper. I love the pictures I got even if they weren't what I imagined.

It seems my babies don't really like smash cakes. Do yours?

Before You Turn One

Tomorrow you turn one, I can hardly believe it. Third time around goes so much quicker. I wish I could go back and relive it all again, the sleepless nights and the sleepy cuddles, oh how i miss the sleepy cuddles.

I feel like you've grown so much in your first year yet you still feel small. You are bigger than average but compared to your brother and sister you are small. You also aren't walking and haven't even taken any steps yet so do still feel very much like a baby. How can you possibly be turning one?!

I feel like i only gave birth to you a couple of months ago. It seems so fresh in my mind yet so far away. This time last year I wasn't even in labour yet. I had no clue you would arrive the day after.

You made us a family of five. A family that we all love and we couldn't imagine life without you. Paige and Parker adore you just as much as me and daddy do.

We love you so much, I hope you know just how much.

Siblings - November 2017

The pictures this month as some of my favourites. So far November was a lovely month filled with autumn walks and lots of family time. We've had lots of birthday parties with more to come. Some lovely time just playing, drawing and watching films.

It's almost Harleighs's birthday and Paige and Parker are so excited. Harleigh doesn't really have a clue but those two big ones are counting down the days. I hope we all have a lovely day celebrating.

This month has also seen the big two having their first ever joint school picture, now Parker is at school nursery they finally get to have one. I'm so excited to see it! Lets hope they captured some lovely smiles.

I can't wait to see them together in December, for their second Christmas as a three. For the added excitement that extra year adds. Maybe Harleigh will be walking too?!

Christmas Gift Guide - Boys and Girls 2017

I always find kids the easiest to buy for. There are so many toys and items out there. Plus they usually have quite big interests and things they like which make it super easy to buy for, you just have to be careful you don't buy multiples!

1. Magic Tracks - Parker saw this on an advert and it looked so cool he immediately wanted it. I looked into it and it does look really great. A glow in the dark track that is bend and flex and the set includes a little car too. If your little one loves cars they love this.

2. Ballet Bunny - I think both boys and girl would like this toy. Yes it is a pink ballet bunny but you can attach the stretchkins bunny to your hands and feet and she stretches with you. Soft, cuddly and stretchy.

3. Personalised Necklace - I love personalised items for children at Christmas. A great gift for a slightly older child would be a personalised necklace. Paige is always trying to steal my jewellery so having a necklace with her own name on would blow her mind.

4. Stabilo Goodies - Paige loves to draw so if your little one is the same they might enjoy these goodies from Stabilo. They have a great range of pens and pencils which would make great stocking fillers.

5. Personalised Books from Its Your Story - Again I love personalised items and personalised books are a great gift in my eyes, especially if you have a child that is learning to read or starting to take an interest in readong. Both Paige and Parker love books and I know they would get a kick out of seeing their name in a story.

6. Aquabeads - Both Paige and Parker love making and doing little craft activities. Aquabeads keep them busy and entertained. They love making little things and showing them off in their room.

7. Paw Patrol Sea Patroller - Parker loves Paw Patrol and i know that he is hoping that santa brings him the Sea Patroller for Christmas so I think that other children would also love it as a gift. If your child is a Paw Patrol fan this will go down a storm!

8. VTech Secret Diary - Paige is hoping for a secret diary. This one is really cool and even has a camera. I know her and her friends would love this!

What is top of your child's list this year?

Happy Beds Aloe Vera Mattress Review

Me and Mark have never had a brand new mattress, we've been together over 10 years!!!!! We recently received a brand new mattress from happy beds and I feel like we've missed out over the last 10 years. Having a new mattress is amazing!

There are so much choice on the website I had no idea which one to pick. There is a handy little filter that you can customise to your needs and weight to calculate the best mattress for you. We ended up going for the Aloe Vera memory foam pocket spring mattress.

There are a few different benefits of the Aloe Vera mattress. Aloe Vera is known to aid in renewing skin cells along with other health benefits.

The mattress has a combination of individually nested Pocket Springs, Memory Foam and Reflex Foam, this makes it perfect in providing support for your whole body. The mattress can certainly help in relieving all your body pains as you sleep. The Pocket Springs work independently. This makes sure that all your body parts are equally supported in order to avoid unequal weight distribution when you lie down or move on the mattress. The hand-crafted Aloe Vera mattress includes micro-quilted side stitched borders. The Aloe Vera is a non-turn mattress which doesn't require to be turned around for longevity. The mattress is also fire retardant for safety concerns.

I love that you don't have to turn this mattress, the mattress is quite heavy. There's no way that I'd be able to lift it on my own and Mark struggled. If you do need to move it though there are handy straps which are very useful and very luxurious.

The Air Vents help the mattress breathe to keep it fresh and dry. As you can see they are small and discreet but still look nice on the side of the mattress.

The first night was rough, I always try to be completely honest here so will continue to do so. I had an awful nights sleep, I woke up multiple times a night and in the morning I was aching all over. I wasn't looking forward to the next nights sleep but it was a lot better. I think my body just needed a night to get used to the new mattress. It was a lot firmer than our previous one. Mark has a bad back so a supportive mattress is a must for him. He has found his back is much more supported now.

We have now used the mattress for almost a month and we both now love it. Marks back is a lot more supported and doesn't hurt or ache half as much as it used to with the old mattress. I don't have any back problems but I have found that when I am sleeping I tend to sleep better and more deeply, waking up more refreshed, when the kids let me sleep that is.

The mattress is really well made, very comfortable and lovely quality. The memory foam and reflex foam make the mattress really lovely to touch, it moulds to your body and supports it.

The service from Happy Beds was good. We got a time slot for the delivery and the mattress turned up 1 minute after the time slot which isn't a huge problem. Mark then managed to get the mattress upstairs by himself and onto our bed. I wouldn't of been much help but was out when it arrived anyway.

Did your new mattress take you a few nights to get use to?

Christmas Gift Guide - Dads 2017

Time for my dads Christmas gift guide! Christmas is coming very quickly. I always find it so hard to buy gifts for my dad and even Mark. I always find that they tend to be a little bit picky with what they like and use and only stick to that but buying them the same each year is quite boring! So here are a few different ideas for this year.

1. Gillette ProGlide Styler - I feel like you can't go wrong with a shaver for a christmas present for the important men in your life. Dads and grandads will both love one. A practical but thoughtful gift.

2. Ted Baker Wallet - Another gift I always gravitate towards is a wallet. Again another practical gift, does anyone else find that gifts for men are always practical? This wallet feels so soft and is the perfect size to fit in a pocket.

3. Personalised Mug  - A mug is a great gift for any tea/coffee drinker. I love adding a little something extra with a personalised mug.

4. Joules Sock and Mug Set - If a personalised mug isn't for you then this great set from Joules might be the answer. A great mug and sock set, perfect for the man in your life.

5. Grey Jumper - I feel like a jumper is quite a safe option, providing you know their size. Something to keep them warm in the cold weather.

6. Playstation 4 - This is something that I know Mark really wants so I know that others might want it too. A bigger more expensive gift but something that would last and they would enjoy if they like gaming. A game could be an extra little present too!

7. A nice watch - A watch is always a difficult one for me, it really depends if the person you are buying for wears one already. If they do wear one an upgrade is a really good present.

8. Slippers - Another safe bet to keep them warm through the winter. There are so many different styles so a little bit of research might be needed!

What are your top gifts for dads? Look out for more gift guides coming soon!
